Medical Emergencies — Glossary
The study of the structure of the human body. The study of how the parts of the human body work and function. The study of the disease or injury process and how it affects the body's normal functions. Refers to the evaluation and understanding of a patient's specific medical condition or complaint. A critical situation requiring immediate medical attention, which EMTs must be able to evaluate and manage effectively. The specialized language used in the medical field, comprising terms for anatomical structures, physiological processes, diseases, and treatments.
