Glossary: Acute Toxicity
Adverse effects occurring within 14 days following a single dose or multiple doses given over 24 hours of a substance. GHS classifies acute toxicity into five categories based on LD50 (lethal dose to 50% of test animals) for oral, dermal, or inhalation exposure.
